Reaching your family doctor after hours:- For minor emergencies that cannot wait until the office is open, please call our office at 604-874-0261. The voice message will instruct you to dial extension 9 during the voice message and then your call will be forwarded to the after hours doctor on call. If you reach the voicemail of the doctor on call, please leave a detailed message and the doctor will call you back as soon as they can. Remember we are not at work, so we may be driving or attending to our families and lives. We will call you back when we are in a safe, confidential space.
- The family physicians at 8th Avenue Family Practice and Maternity Care share the responsibility of covering your after hours questions as an unpaid service to our patients. We ask that you respect our time with our families and only contact us for urgent problems that can not wait until the next business day. However, we are happy to take your calls regarding urgent medical issues.
City Centre Urgent Primary Care Centre
For minor emergencies and urgencies occurring after clinic hours that require an in-person assessment, but do not require an emergency room at a hospital, patients can be seen at the Urgent Primary Care Centre located at 1290 Hornby Street.
